Fontys Partner Day 2023

International colleagues from partner universities visiting Fontys

The yearly EAIE Conference (European Association for International Education) is organized in the Netherlands, Rotterdam, this time. A unique chance to invite participating international colleagues from partner universities all over the world to visit Fontys. Main goal is to get to really introduce them extensively to Fontys and relevant themes that concern us and can be interesting.
There has been a good response, making the day a success already. About 70 colleagues from 50 different partner universities from 25 countries will visit Fontys and participate in the programme. We start at Nexus and from lunch time the event venue is campus Rachelsmolen.

Fontys has included internationalisation as an important development in its strategy. One of our starting points for this is that all students acquire international orientation and intercultural competences. One way to do this is through international exchange. We aim for a growing proportion of our student population to have an international experience abroad or take part in international projects to develop in cooperation with these partner universities. 
To achieve this, we need strong partners, who we know well and who know us well. This way, we can offer more and better ways to all our students, fitting the diversity of learning paths of all our students. And so we can also introduce more students to Fontys, which also contributes to the international position of our region.
Within Fontys, we are increasingly expanding the ways in which we exchange and cooperate.
For example, we have Virtual Collaboration, where students work on projects together internationally. And Blended Intensive Programmes, where students work together both online and during a project week in a European country. We also develop education together, exchange lecturers and our staff can also learn from each other.
 
On the Fontys Partner Day, we present Fontys to a large group of foreign partners. We share knowledge on themes on which we can cooperate, such as sustainability, entrepreneurship or educational innovation. We also share knowledge about new forms of exchange, to make an experience abroad possible for as many students as possible.
